The cost of the product proved to be important, but depending on how long the umbrella could last - 73% of those asked would not pay more than £8.


STYLE
Although overall considered less significant than price, the aesthetics of the product was important - 69% of those asked would consider buying a product that is visually appealing over another.
EASE OF USE
With umbrellas being considered a hassle to carry, and difficult to use in the wind, ease of use is very important - this also included ease of opening, with 74% of those asked preferring a retractable umbrella, with an automatic button open.
